Collection: 99 Breaths of Gratitude Meditation session

Do you meditate?  I’m sure you do.  We all do.  In one way or the other.

Only, not all of us call it meditation.

Here are some synonyms from a thesaurus I found online: chew over, cogitate, consider, contemplate, debate, deliberate, entertain, eye, kick around, mull (over), perpend, ponder, pore (over), question, revolve, ruminate, study, think (about or over), turn, weigh, wrestle (with) muse (upon), reflect (on or upon), reminisce.  How many of the above can you check off as being something you do?

I would add praying, visualizing your goals, and maybe journaling to the list.

My point is that we all meditate. Knowingly or unknowingly.

Meditation is a powerful thing.  When we meditate we are totally submerged in that one thing that we are poring over or contemplating.  All other thoughts disappears and time can fly by without us noticing.  Right?

Instead of brooding and mulling over things from the past, (that can’t be changed anyway because they already floated down the river of time), we can use this ability and time to exercise our gratitude muscle through meditation.

Gratitude is one side of the big muscle we call love.  Other parts of the same muscle are called kindness, compassion, understanding….just to name a few.

It’s not really a muscle, of course.  But it is like a muscle in the way that 1) we all have it by default,  2) it can be trained and become big and strong. 3) will atrophy,  shrivel and shrink as a result of  underuse and neglect.

There are numerous ways of exercising and practicing Gratitude.  Keeping a gratitude journal is one way.  Trying to remember to be grateful is another and good practice.  Saying thank you for everything to everyone is also very well.

The only problem with these exercises and practices are that it’s very easy to end up going through the motion of listing everything that you are grateful for without feeling any gratitude at all.

It is not the ritual that does it.  It is the emotion and feeling behind the ritual that does the magic.

Gratitude must be wholehearted and heartfelt in order to work.  When it is, it works!!  It really works.  Feelings and emotions are vibrations that go out and beyond us and creates waves in the universe.  Feelings and emotions are what sends out signals and sets the Universe in motion!

Feelings and emotions are the magnets that attract and bring things, stuff,  persons, situations, and coincidences our way.  Choose the good ones!

The 99 Breaths of Gratitude meditation is one that I created for myself first and have shared with many, many of my clients later.

There is no right or wrong way to do the 99 Breaths of Gratitude meditation.

Still, some feel they want a little help in the beginning, just to get the hang of how to go about it, how to use a Mala and how to choose or make a mantra to go with the meditation.

If that is how you feel, then you can book your session here and now.  The session is done on messenger, facetime, skype etc. and normally lasts about 30 minutes.

You can do the meditation with or without a Mala as a tool to keep count of your breaths.  And, you can meditate with or without a mantra.

You can use a mantra that resonates with you if you have one, or you can make your own.

99 Breaths of Gratitude The Magic Funnel

Relax and let your body fill itself with air.

Just as much air as is comfortable.

Relaxed and effortlessly.

Feel the air swirl around inside you before you let it flow out again.

Do this a few times to get a feel of the flow.

Imagine that you are a funnel.

In your mind, picture Life Force Energy pouring into you through the big opening and out again through the small opening.

Do this also a few times to get a feel of being the funnel.

Now it’s time to add a little magic.

Find a few drops of gratitude and blend it into in the air before you exhale it through the small end of the funnel.

Feel how the texture and color of the air changes.

Then exhale.

Now think of someone or something that you would like to direct this flow towards.

It can be your spouse, a child, your pet, yourself, your working place, your house, your neighbor, your clients, your music, your art,  Instagram friends.

Anything.

Just decide and choose one.

Imagine directing the small end of your funnel towards the person or object of your choice and exhale.

Repeat this as many times and as often as you want.

However, practicing “The Magic Funnel” 99 times pr. day for at least 28 consecutive days will give you the most magic result.

You can use a Mala or some other tool to keep count of your breaths.

You can also choose a mantra to follow the exhale.

You can make your own mantra (for example “Thank you”,  “I love you” “I bless you”) or choose one that resonates with you.

The purpose of this practice is to nurture and grow an attitude of gratitude which in turn will nurture and foster the ability to give and receive love.

You don’t need to be in a special meditation position to practice.

You can practice the Magic Funnel while walking, talking, sitting or standing.

Even while lying in bed.

But you will notice that a “straight” spine and open chest will make your lungs fill with less effort.

Happy meditating.
